If you are having people over to your home to eat, do not pour the salad dressing on the salad, allow your guests to put the dressing on themselves. Some people enjoy lots of dressing than others; let guests pour their own dressing. Offer many different types of dressing.

Dark, leafy greens have tons of healthy nutrients, but cooking them can sometimes be difficult. Removing the stems is laborious and time consuming. Make it easy by folding the leaf and breaking the stem. You could also cut the stem from the folded leaf with a knife.

Dark greens are really healthy. However, they can be hard to prepare. Greens usually have thick stems that can be a hassle to remove. To make it easier, take the leaf and fold it lengthwise, then cut out the stem in the middle. Also, with the leaf folded lengthwise, you can use a sharp knife to slice the stem away from the leafy portion. Before you measure, lightly coat the spoon with a cooking oil which has little flavor, such as canola, then the sticky substance you are measuring will glide off much easier, preventing waste and making clean up much easier. This works well for peanut butter and honey also.

Consider warming citrus fruits in the microwave for a bit before juicing. Put the fruit inside the microwave and heat it for about ten seconds, depending on size. Immediately after removing the fruit from the microwave, gently roll it on a flat surface. Now you are ready to begin juicing.

Then you will get the desired texture.

When mashing potatoes use hot, try using hot milk. This will make your potatoes that light and fluffier. Nobody really wants to eat mashed potatoes full of lumps.

Make any necessary fixes to your pie crust. If your dough has developed cracks, you may have overworked it. Put a bit of cold water on the cracks, and use a finger to gently repair them. As an extra touch, if cracks are showing up on the upper crust, brush a small amount of milk over the top to moisten and sprinkle it with granulated sugar. This gives your crust a glaze to hide those cracks.

Make sure you preheat your stove to at 300 degrees.

This allows the fat to congeal and rise to the top. You can then easily pluck the hardened fat and discard it prior to eating. You will save approximately 100 calories for each tablespoon of fat you remove.
