Living In A Van: TOP 10! Best Food to Eat NO FRIDGE NO STOVE | Hobo Ahle

So for today we are again going to focus
on the question of like "what do you eat if you live in a car and you don't have
a fridge a stove or easy access to a microwave?" Honestly, getting a cheap
portable propane stove was one of the best decisions that I've ever made. I
think I might have said that in the last video like I don't really remember- but
either way, totally was! But if for some reason you can't get one or you just opt
out of having a stove there's still hope… You can totally still eat like a variety of
food. So this is a list of like not necessarily 10 foods just kind of like
maybe like 10 categories of food… kinda, that you can buy/eat/store without a stove
or a fridge. So to start us off with number one is gonna be Basics. Now this
would be items like bread, tortillas bagels, etc. Now you can put all types of
stuff on these to change it up and not make it boring or you can literally just
eat them by themselves.

Number two is Sandwiches. Oh yeah,
sandwiches for the win. One of my absolute favorites is peanut butter and
banana. If you opt to have lunch meat in your
sandwich, buying it the day you're gonna eat it isn't always convenient, but it
works and some places will even discount what they need to get rid of ASAP. So if
you're literally gonna walk to your car and make a sandwich… doesn't seem like a
bad deal! I also really like to keep these individual jelly packets handy so
that way I can make peanut butter and jelly as well.

Number three being Fresh
Fruit: apples, oranges, bananas, peaches, pears… literally all the fruit! I love
keeping avocados around to just mash up on a moment's notice and eat with chips. Number four: Dry Food. So things like dried fruit, nuts, trail mix, cereal, and
even popcorn. And we're halfway there at number five
with things like Fruit Cups and Applesauce. Six: Canned goods. Veggies,
beans, fruit, literally anything canned… that brings us to number seven which is
Canned Meat so tuna, canned chicken, spam, even sardines if that's your thing, but
like honestly who even eatS sardines?! Literally that's like not even
rhetorical like tell me who you are cuz like sardines? what? Anyways! Number eight:
MREs/backpacking meals. Just add water and eat them cold or get the fancy
self-heating kind, which I didn't even know they had until this so now I'm
gonna have to test this out and see how it works.

Number nine: Overnight Oatmeal. And
finally Number ten: fridge items. So salad stuff like lettuce or spinach, Lunchables,
meat, again these are things that can be bought either the day of or a few days
prior than the intended date that you are going to eat them. Now keep in mind
that EVERYTHING does not absolutely NEED to be refrigerated. For example, eggs are
one of those things that can go unrefrigerated for a few days no problem.
Okay so that is basically my answer whenever somebody asks me "what is the
best food to store in my car without a fridge??" Now I know that for instance
eating a cold can of beans is not everyone's dream life because quite
frankly it's not mine either, but sometimes you know it's not always about
the "ideal" it's about the "what is possible".

So needless to say, I will recommend it
again… a stove. Whether it is alcohol, propane, solar, whatever. A stove will
definitely make things more chillin. And if you have power that obviously
offers more variety. You can use things like an instant pot or a rice cooker, but
I'm kind of like under the assumption that if you don't have a stove or a
fridge then you probably don't have solar either. I mean I could be wrong,
that's just kind of where my mind goes. But anyways, of course you can also
always utilize a microwave at gas stations or at your job if there's one
there. And also if you can't or don't want a fridge you could always use a
cooler and that gets into the territory of like having to deal with ice and you
know that's a little too messy for some people…but you know, it if – all of this,
all of this… really always just comes down to your personal preference, what
you are willing to do, handle, keep up with. So as always, just do you.

I kind of
just wanted to put this here as like a reference for people who have that
particular question. So yeah, good luck with all that food
stuff and I'll see you guys next time. Peace out..
